Arrive in Livingstone where our representative will be waiting for you. After Meet & greet at the airport, you will proceed to be transferred to your Safari Lodge . On arrival you will be assisted with check-in to the lodge and the rest of the day is for your relaxation and leisure.

What is Lion Encounter
Lion Encounter operates stage one of the African Lion and Environmental Research Trust‘s four stage Rehabilitation and Release into the Wild Program. The first stage of the program involves the young lions being taken out into the Bush, allowing them to build confidence in their natural habitat and practice their hunting techniques before being released into stage two of the program.
By joining the lions walks you are actively assisting in the pre-release training for the cubs as well as giving funding for ALERT to; develop all stages of the release program; implement conservation and research programs to protect Africa’s precious habitat and wildlife; and engage in a variety of community development and empowerment schemes for those living in and around wildlife conservation areas.

The Experience
During the walk itself you will be accompanied by our experienced guides, handlers and scouts that ensure that our rigorous safety procedures are upheld allowing you to enjoy watching the lions play, hunt and enjoy their natural habitat.  At times the lions may rest allowing you some close encounters and opportunities to get a photo with the lions.  After the lion walk, which lasts approximately 1hr to 1¼ hr, you’ll be welcomed back to the meeting area by the hospitality staff, who will be waiting for you with a hearty breakfast or drinks and snacks. You can watch the footage of your lion walk, with the option to purchase a DVD of your walk and other merchandise which helps support the lion release program. This is probably going to be one of the most exciting and adrenaline rushing days of your life. A must do.
You are then driven back to the lodge to spend the rest of the evening interacting with other guests or listening to and sharing stories underneath a camp fire.

Located approximately 10 km from Livingstone, is Zambia’s first “Elephant Camp” – offering a once in a lifetime insight into these gentle giants.  Together with this ecologically friendly method of game viewing, a strong emphasis is placed on an Elephant experience rather than just an Elephant ride and guests are encouraged to interact with these majestic and intelligent African mammals.  The training techniques used by the trainers are based on the positive reinforcement method as opposed to the controversial “discipline and submission” technique commonly associated with Asian Elephants.
Our five adult African Elephants, Madinda, Marula, Liwa, Danny, and Mashumbi each offer two guests an unparalleled viewpoint of the mighty Zambezi River and surrounding bush area of Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. Chavaruka born to Mashumbi in 2004 and Nandi born to Liwa in 2007 will carry just one guest each. We also have the proud addition of Sekuti, a young orphan the herd brought home from the bush at the end of January 2010 and our latest member of the herd is a little bull called Muyuni, born to Mashumbi and Bop on 29th December 2013. Both babies accompany the walk with clients, frolicking along with the herd. On return to the Lodge, the rest of the evening is at your leisure.
* You will be provided Tea/Coffee, Biscuits, Soft drinks and Bottled Water for this

Your friendly driver will collect you from your resort and transport you in an air-conditioned car to the Kazungula border to kick off your 4 days in Chobe National Park, Botswana. Chobe National Park is approximately two hours from Livingstone. Your transfer is by road and boat across the Zambezi River, as you are crossing into Botswana you will need your passport.
Upon arrival and checking into your resort in Chobe, Botswana you are now ready to meet your local guide who will lead you into one of Botswana’s most prized natural landscapes.

Chobe Game Drive
Experience one of Africa’s true wildlife gems in this 11 700 square kilometre wildlife reserve. Arguments rage as to whether the elephant population is 60 000 or 120 000. It really does not matter which is correct as the sight of herds numbering in the hundreds is a sight you will never forget. In this park where predators like lion, leopard and wild dog abound it is no wonder it has been called the Galapagos of Africa. Don’t forget to take with you binoculars, cameras with sufficient battery power and memory card as well as a suitable windbreaker as the vehicles are open.

Boat Cruise
This is the real reason you have come to this area. Our custom designed game viewing boats are fully equipped. Each one of the game viewers has a well stocked cooler box. Please ensure that if you have any specific
requests with regard to drinks that these are placed with our boat guides prior to departure. These game viewing boats are designed to go where the larger game viewing boats cannot so this is your opportunity to get up close and personal with the great and small that the Chobe has to offer. Do not forget your cameras, binoculars, sunscreen and in winter something warm to cover up.

Namibian Village Walk
This delightful village situated around a Baobab tree can trace its history back a few hundred years. The people of this village provide income for their families through traditional fishing methods as well as livestock. You will have the opportunity of getting an in depth view of their lives as they welcome you into their homes and get a glimpse of a life style that has not changed in thousands of years. We recommend you take with you sun protection in the form of lotion and hats, cameras with sufficient battery and memory card, small denomination notes to buy souvenirs and small gifts like sweets, pens and pencils etc. are always gratefully received.

Your private guide, your own adventure. Make your way to the Chobe River, where you’ll set sail on a comfortable boat and enjoy tea and coffee with some tasty snacks while you look out over breathtaking scenery and try to spot hippos, elephants, crocodiles, colorful birds and other wildlife.

Being the end of your Botswana Wildlife Experience, we want you to take in the wilderness again and make sure you see the wildlife you may have missed the first time around. Hopp onto a 4×4 vehicle for an off-road tour of Chobe National Park. This incredible experience offers an opportunity to spot the Big Five—elephants, Cape buffalos, lions, leopards and rhinos. Your park ranger will stay on the look out to insure you capture as much wildlife as possible.
